We know that virtual care is a new idea. We’ve answered below a few of the common questions. It’s our goal to help you see how it works and how it can help you and your family.
What is offered at the Kingswood Community Center?
This site is a place for you to come for help with technology and for certain medical needs such as vaccines, a blood pressure check, or an exam with one of our nurses. It is currently open on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Where do the visits happen?
You don’t have to go to the Community Center for all your visits. You can have a virtual visit any day of the week from anywhere you have access to the internet with a smartphone, tablet, or laptop with a camera. If you don’t have a private place for a video visit or wifi, you can have your video visits by appointment from our site on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have the technology.
What happens if I need to be looked at in person?
You will be surprised at the amount of medical care that can be done online. Yet, we know at times that an in-person visit is needed. Some in-person care can be given at our site at the Kingswood Community Center by appointment with one of our nurses. If a higher level of in- person care is needed, we will set it up using your insurance.
I find technology hard to use. Can you help me?
There’s no need to be anxious about the technology as we have step-by-step directions. We are sure that you’ll be good at it in no time. You can always visit our site at the Kingswood Community Center for help. It’s staffed by ChristianaCare Virtual Health staff. See the questions above for more details.
Do I need a smartphone?
A smartphone is one way to get virtual care. A tablet or a computer with a camera and internet service works just as well. If you don’t have any of these items, you can have your virtual visit at our site at the Kingswood Community Center.
If you have a cell phone and would like to use text messaging to talk with us, messages are sent using a secure app called Twistle. It’s convenience at your fingertips. We’ll teach you how to use it.
What is a Patient Digital Ambassador?
A Patient Digital Ambassador is a friendly and helpful part of your care team. Your PDA is often your first point you’ll talk to for all your needs.
What is a Community Health Worker? A Community Health Worker (CHW) is a part of your care team that helps with things that aren’t
about your medical care. A CHW can simply be a listening ear or can connect you to aid for you and your family with everyday life issues.
Why is having a primary care provider so important?
Staying healthy and well is easier with a team by your side. Trust us to talk about the things that matter most to you – when you’re feeling sick and even when you’re feeling ok. We’re your source for keeping on top of important health issues such as your blood sugar levels or blood pressure. But that’s not all. We can help with sports physicals, vaccines for the kids and so much more
