The Northeast Wilmington Community Plan is more than just a document — it’s a community-led blueprint for transformation. Crafted by the WRK Group (The Warehouse, REACH Riverside, and Kingswood Community Center), this ten-year roadmap outlines bold, actionable steps to uplift Northeast Wilmington through housing, education, wellness, and economic mobility. Developed with input from residents and backed by the Wells Fargo Regional Foundation, the plan addresses both the neighborhood's greatest challenges and its strongest assets — from community resilience to revitalization efforts already underway.

RESTORE

RESTORE invests in our community through real estate strategies that attract and build community-serving businesses, neighborhood amenities and opportunities for affordable home ownership for residents.

  • Home Ownership: Build and/or convert up to 130 homes for affordable ownership.
  • Economic Development: Support legacy businesses and create the conditions for new businesses to enter the neighborhood.
  • Placemaking: Develop a community culture through green spaces, public art, branded signage, and tree planting.

Why Physical Capital?

Your longevity and health are more determined by your ZIP code than they are by your genetic code. Health, education, safety, access to jobs, and overall well-being are oftentimes closely tied to the conditions of our build environment, which includes housing, revitalizing land, and investing in existing physical capital, and revitalizing land and real estate will directly impact the quality of life in our community!

Through RESTORE, REACH seeks to create:

  • A new Kingswood Community Center
  • A neighborhood grocery store
  • Homeownership opportunities
  • A community land trust
  • A commercial corridor
  • Public green spaces

A huge thanks to our partner, Wells Fargo, for their generous and ongoing support.
